Acoustic-phonon-mediated superconductivity in moiréless graphene multilayers

چکیده

We investigate the competition between acoustic phonon mediated superconductivity and long-range Coulomb interaction in moir\'eless graphene multilayers, specifically, Bernal bilayer graphene, rhombohedral trilayer ABCA-stacked tetralayer graphene. In these phonons can realize, through electron-phonon coupling, both spin-singlet spin-triplet pairings, intra-sublattice pairings ($s$-wave $f$-wave spin-triplet) are dominant channels. Our theory naturally explains distinct recent experimental findings we further predict existence of ABCA arising from interactions. particular, demonstrate that prevails over a wide range doping while exists only narrow near Van Hove singularity Key features our inclusion realistic band structures with appropriate singularities repulsion effects (the so-called ``${\ensuremath{\mu}}^{*}$ effect'') opposing phonon-induced superconducting pairing. also discuss how intervalley scatterings suppress spin-polarized superconductivity. work provides detailed prediction based on electron--acoustic induced superconductivity, which should be investigated future experiments.

Phonon-mediated superconductivity in graphene by lithium deposition

Graphene1 is the physical realization of many fundamental concepts and phenomena in solid-state physics2. However, in the list of graphene’s many remarkable properties3–6, superconductivity is notably absent. If it were possible to find a way to induce superconductivity, it could improve the performance and enable more efficient integration of a variety of promising device concepts including na...

Graphene and Graphene Multilayers: Phonon Thermal Transport

In this entry, we review thermal properties of graphene and multilayer graphene and discuss in detail the optothermal Raman technique developed for the thermal conductivity measurements. We also outline different theoretical approaches used for the description of phonon transport in graphene and provide comparison with the available experimental thermal conductivity data.

The Next Breakthrough in Phonon-Mediated Superconductivity

If history teaches us anything, it is that the next breakthrough in superconductivity will not be the result of surveying the history of past breakthroughs, as they have almost always been a matter of serendipity resulting from undirected exploration into new materials. Still, there is reason to reflect on recent advances, work toward higher Tc of even an incremental nature, and recognize that ...

Phonon-mediated tunneling into graphene.

Recent scanning tunneling spectroscopy experiments on graphene reported an unexpected gap of about +/-60 meV around the Fermi level [V. W. Brar, Appl. Phys. Here we give a theoretical investigation explaining the experimentally observed spectra and confirming the phonon-mediated tunneling as the re...

Extending the theory of phonon-mediated superconductivity in quasi-2D

I present results from an extended Migdal–Eliashberg theory of electron-phonon interactions and superconductivity. The history of the electron-phonon problem is introduced, and then study of the intermediate parameter regime is justified from the energy scales in the cuprate superconductors. The Holstein model is detailed, and limiting cases are examined to demonstrate the need for an extended ...
